End of Kinder

This is another layout I did during my scrapbooking weekend in June. This is the end of the year program for my daughter's kindergarten. She and some of her closest friends were particularly sad because she knew we would be homeschooling in the future.

I've been posting some really simple layouts to show that not every page in my scrapbooks is a "work of art." LOL. Sometimes you just need to get the pictures on pages and into your albums.

I have been doing a little bit of scrapbooking recently, so I should have some new layouts to show soon.

Thanks for visiting!

1st day of preschool layout

Yes, I know this one is really late. My daughter was 3.5 years old in this picture. She is now 6. But those big event, typical scrapbooking pages have never been my thing. I like the little stories that go with everyday life much better. Did I ever mention that my son's 1st year album isn't done yet? Yeah. And he's 4 now. My daughter's 1st year album is ALMOST complete. Just lack the first birthday layout to finish it up. You see a pattern here? :)

Anyway, on to the more interesting aspect of this layout. That flourishy heart. I knew I wanted something flourishy in that corner. I grapped the first thing in my blank chipboard/grungeboard drawer and this is what I withdrew (this is the picture after I applied black copics and fruit punch stickles that is):

And this is the beauty of grungeboard. I can use my copics to color it, then apply stickles to it. Then after all is dried, bend it into any shape my heart desires. Even a heart! :) Here's a close up of the heart:

Papers are close to my heart (notebook), grungeboard from Tim Holtz, chipboard "1" from Heidi Swapp, fruit punch stickles from Ranger. That's it, as easy as could be.
